The Constraint is a fully student-led blog exploring economics, mathematics, finance and the related ideas found in books.

I am a Year 11 student with a growing interest in how economic and mathematical thinking can help explain the world around us more clearly. I created this blog to record new ideas that I have learnt and to explore my interests.

This blog includes book reports on my various economical readings, short articles investigating economic concepts and occasional longer reports based on my own independent research. I will cover a range of topics from how banks create money and why firms price products differently to the mathematics behind interest, risk and decision making.

I do not claim to be an expert. The Constraint is intended to document my process of learning the ever changing dynamic of economics and how it affects our daily lives. I am happy to respond to questions through comments or emails, and I welcome any corrections or responses you may have.
